St. Louis-Wide Campus Sustainability Day!

In the St. Louis area, the United States Green Building Council's Emerging Green Builders chapter is working with Maryville University, St. Louis University, and Souther Illinois University at Edwardsville on a city-wide coordination of Campus Sustainability Day events on each of their campuses.

Syracuse University Has a Month-Long Program Leading to Campus Sustainability Day!

Earth Balloon

At Cuyahoga Community College, we plan to include the Earth Balloon as a part of our Campus Sustainability Day activities. The Earth Balloon is a fully detailed inflatable earth 19 feet tall and 22 feet wide that can hold 15-30 people. A consultant will provide group tours and a lesson on sustainability inside of the balloon.

Outside of the balloon, various simulation games, quizzes and information tables will be set up. Students and other visitors will receive a "passport" to be stamped at each event/table they visit. Afterwards passports may be used in a raffle for prizes.

Although our balloon comes courtesy of our Global Issues Resource Center, a google search brought up several companies and organizations that have the Earth Balloon for rent.

Promoting the Webcast

Are there images (jpeg, etc) available for use in promoting the event at our campus? For example, the Campus Sustainability Day image on the blog homepage would be a nice addition to promotional flyers.

Recording the Webcast

Hello, I have a few questions about the webcast.

1. Can we record and re-broadcast the webcast for students and staff who can't participate at the time the webcast will be shown?

Yes, you may. You can also, when you register (or later using the registration page) order a copy on DVD, which can be used to show it later. If you want to re-broadcast it quickly and you have the capability to record it, doing that instead of waiting for the DVD may work best as that may take a week or two for fulfillment.

2. Is there a secondary broadcast that will be shown or is available for participating institutions to purchase at a discount?

I am not sure what you are asking here, but the availability of the DVD might have answered your question?
